MALVERN's newest pet shop has been officially opened by coun Christine O’Donnell, the deputy chairman of Malvern Hills District Council.
Coun O'Donnell attended the grand opening of Pets at Home, on Malvern Retail Park,and took a tour of the store, including its grooming salon and vets' practice.
Simon Hughes, store manager, said: “Our opening weekend went even better than we had hoped and it was great to receive coun O’Donnell and show her the new amenities that we have on offer at the store."
The opening of the shop has created five full- and part-time jobs, and the new recruits have received extensive training on pet care and pet knowledge'
The store also includes an adoption centre, run by independent charity, Support Adoption For Pets, where pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and other small animals are cared for until a new home can be found.
