THE line-up for an annual jazz festival has been announced, with some bands back by popular demand.

Louis Louis Louis, Hotsy Totsy and Moscow Drug Club are all returning for Upton Jazz Festival, which starts on Thursday, June 22.

There will be dozens of jazz, jive, swing and dance gigs across the four-day festival, with award winning artists heading to the town.

Rachel Hayward, festival musical director, said: "We’re so excited to be getting ready for the 32nd Upton Jazz Festival.

"From the Thursday to the Sunday, there’ll be four days of world-class music from trad, swing and jive to hot club, European and gypsy jazz, and we can’t wait to welcome our visitors again."

A New Orleans style parade will take place through Upton's streets on the Saturday and a range of international artists will also be playing at the festival.

These artists include Sweden’s Bent Persson, Swiss saxophonist Thomas Winteler and the Revivalists Jazz Band, from the Netherlands.

Other groups on the programme include Washboard Resonators, Temperance Seven, Keith Nichols Orchestra, The Dime Notes and the Jonathan Vinten Trio.

There will also be gypsy jazz performances from from La Vie En Ros, Strumpit Strumpit and Remi Harris.

Festival day tickets cost £25 and weekend tickets are available for £70, until April 30 when the price will rise.
