THE first farmers market of 2017 kicks off in Malvern this weekend, showcasing the work of some of the area’s finest food and drink producers.

The regular market, supported by Malvern Hills District Council will be open from 9am until 2pm along Abbey Road, Great Malvern on Saturday, January 21.

Stalls at the market will be selling everything from fish and meat, fresh fruit and vegetables to puddings, cakes, jams, honey and juices.

Simon Smith, the council's economic development manager, said: “We are really pleased to be supporting the farmers’ markets once again this year. The markets are a good way of promoting fresh food and healthy eating as well as supporting the growth and development of local businesses.”
