POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a large quantity of vintage clothing was stolen from a house near Bidford -on-Avon.

More than 50 items vanished from a wooden outbuilding at a property on Honeybourne Road, Bickmarsh, between 4pm on Friday, November 11, and 9am the following Wednesday. The thief removed a padlock from the door to gain access.

The haul included men's and women's clothing that had been collected from all over the world since 1975, all the way from London to Paris, Iran, Kuwait, Cyprus and Palestine, The stolen items are believed to be worth several thousand pounds in total.

Items of note include a brown suede and leather coat from Bacarat Boutique, Louis Ferraud beige linen jacket with orange zigzag, a Jacques Vert pale pink linen skirt, fluted jacket and matching silk camisole, a Baccarat brown suede and cream wool waistcoat, six men's Scottish knit jumpers, a pair of beige leather knee-high zipped Pierre Cardin boots, a Louis Ferraud full-length straight purple chiffon evening dress with strap plus multi-layered matching poncho and a short black Chanel evening coat with large black buckle and matching short sleeveless cocktail dress.

Also missing are a number of items made by Jaeger, including a green zigzag-patterned skirt, a mid-blue cotton blouse and skirt, a brightly-patterned skirt with horizontal-striped matching top, a navy cotton skirt and blouse with small multi-coloured spots, a red and black striped silk skirt and top, and a yellow wool jacket and skirt. Several suitcases were also taken.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time, or who has seen any of the items for sale, is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 402s of 16 November 16.
