FOR 30 years Brian Eacock, as clerk of the works, made sure the magnificence of Worcester Cathedral looked good for visitors.

Now, in his retirement, he is still concentrating on the visual, but this time as a man who takes stunning photographs.

"I'd always been interested in photography," he explained, "but I took it up more seriously after I left the cathedral because I had more time. I joined Beacon Camera Club in Malvern and gained my LRPS (Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society) in 2005.

"I then also joined Worcestershire Camera Club and gained my ARPS (Associate of the RPS) in 2008, finally gaining the DPAGB award (Distinction Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) in 2014."

In other words, Brian is a well qualified practitioner. He is also, incidentally, still a member of both camera clubs.

Now, in the run-up to Christmas, he is staging an exhibition of his framed prints in Malvern Library. He added: "All the work is done by me from taking the photo, printing, mounting and framing."

The subjects are many and varied and include scenes from across the country, from colourful birds on the Malvern Hills to Clevedon pier in Somerset. But you'll have to visit to see if there's one of Worcester Cathedral. The exhibition is open until Saturday, December 31and prints are for sale.
