PUDSEY bear made a surprise visit to a Malvern school to the delight of pupils.

The Children in Need mascot joined in with the morning movement dance routine of Malvern St James's prep department on Friday, November 18.

Poppy Blandford, from year 4, presented Pudsey with a cheque for over £360, which was raised by pupils and staff at MSJ.

Among the fundraising activities were a treasure hunt around the school and the sale of Pudsey bear-shaped biscuits.

Staff and pupils also dressed as pirates in line with this year's theme after making pirate hats, eye patches and bandanas.

A team from BBC Hereford and Worcester were with Pudsey for the visit to the school.

Olivera Raraty, headmistress, said: “This year the whole school came together to raise money for Children in Need.

"We were thrilled to support such a fantastic charity and the pirate theme captured everyone’s imagination.

"Pudsey’s visit was the highlight of the week and I’m sure the girls will remember his visit for a long time to come.”
