THIS huge Christmas tree is up for grabs - and the winning bidder will be supporting a Worcestershire animal charity in the process.

The RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire Branch is auctioning the 20-foot tree to raise money for the charity's Holdings building fund.

Last month the branch opened a 20-pen cattery at the five-acre site, which is part of a £1 million project.

Although the centre is initially focusing on cats, long term there are plans to expand for dogs and rabbits, as soon as the money is raised to fund the next phases.

Long-time supporters of the branch have donated the Christmas tree to be auctioned, with the buyer to collect the tree from its current resting place, six miles south of Worcester.

The new RSPCA centre in Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Worcester WR5 3FP is open every day, except Wednesday, between 11am and 4pm.
