ON Tuesday, October 11 we had our monthly meting with the usual notices, only this day was tinged with sadness as we all had been in the morning to one of our WI members.
Our speaker was Mr, David Barrie who gave us a talk called 'By Steam to Darjeeling'. His talk was most interesting, telling us of his wonder of the railway since he was a boy. however when he became an adult he went to India and stated up a charity to preserve the railway, which had been built by the British in the 1800's. Now it is thriving with visitors and proving work for many, all due to Mr Barrie. His enthusiasm was catching .
Our next meeting is November 8 called 'Jumping Clay Craft'. New members welcome.
