OUR new Programme of Speakers has now started with a talk by Gordon Forrest, of the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, on the Wildlife of Randan Meadow, which is part of Chaddesley Wood, all owned by the Trust. The meadow is renowned for the number of giant anthills it contains, with about 3500 to 4000 anthills within the 12 acre site. The meadow is also rich in Flora and Fauna including Green Woodpeckers, Gt. Spotted Woodpeckers, Long Tailed Tits and many more. The birds are attracted to the meadow by the ants and the varied wildflowers, amongst them being Wild Arum, Birdsfoot Trefoil, Cowslip, orchids and a wide variety of grasses. These in turn attract many species of Butterfly. Foxes and other mammals also abound. Gordon gave a very interesting talk on his life photographing this rich area of our countryside. We have two more Outings scheduled before the end of October one to Thenford Arboretum on October 15th and our final Outing on 27th October to Hardwick Hall

Our next talk is on Friday the 11th November at Croome Court when Pamela Hurle will be talking about Stanbrook Abbey.
