MEMBERS gathered as usual at the Abbey Hotel, Malvern on Monday 17th October for their regular fortnightly meeting.
The talk entitled “Mercy Ships” was given by Ruth Pole. Ruth has been a volunteer dentist on board one of these ships, which visit ports in mainly African countries providing medical care and assistance which is not provided by any local service. The whole project is entirely staffed by multinational volunteers, who give their time and skills freely. The presentation was supported by photographs and video so that members could see the real benefits that result from the project.
The next meeting is on 31st October when Leanne Wallis will speak about the work of The Salvation Army.
