MORE than 50 people attended an event showcasing the services on offer to older people across Malvern Hills district.

The Older People's Showcase took place on Monday, October 10, at the Regal Theatre in Tenbury as part of World Mental Health Day.

Organised by Malvern Hills District Council and Worcestershire County Council, the event was an opportunity for older people, their family, friends and carers to find out about services and activities available in the area to help residents age well and live independently in their own homes for longer.

Activities included free health checks for those aged 40 to 74, a Dementia Friends session to find out how to support people with the condition, and a Strength and Balance taster session.

Cllr David Watkins of the district council said: “With 25 stall holders in attendance, this event was a great opportunity for visitors to find out what services are available for older people. I was pleased to see so many people taking part in the activities and hope the information they received will support them in the future.”
