AN author's new book set in the Malvern Hills has gone on sale at a Malvern shop.

Echo of Bells, by Hampshire-based author Jill Todd, has been published by Malvern-based Black Pear Press after editors at the publishers were impressed with the manuscript sent to them as part of an open submissions process.

The exciting novel centres around the family hostility towards lead character Lissa Byrne when she inherits her grandfather’s house in the Malvern Hills.

As events unfold Lissa is drawn ever deeper into her family’s troubled history.

The author chose to set the novel in the area as she has family connections to Malvern, and regularly visits.

The cover illustration for the book features Clutter’s Cave on Herefordshire Beacon, which is where a key scene takes place in the novel.

The author recently attended a book signing session at the Malvern Book Cooperative shop in St Ann’s Road, where copies are available to buy.

She is also now currently working on her next novel which will feature some of the characters from Echo of Bells, but is not a direct sequel.

As well as the shop, Echo of Bells is available on Amazon and other online retailers, or from Black Pear Press at blackpear.net.
