ON September 24 Hanley Swan Market and Café will open its doors once again at 9.30am after the summer break. We look forward to inviting customers and friends, new and old, to come and sample some of the delights on offer. We have everything from quality second hand books, to the freshest of eggs, bread, cakes and vegetables. We also have a range of delightful gifts to purchase from a range of stalls- remember that Christmas is on it’s way!

As we come back refreshed from the break, it is also a good time for us to reflect on what has been achieved as we near our 10th year. Since the market started in 2007 it has raised, with the support from the local community and beyond, a staggering £12767.61. We have provided contributions to local organisations including everything from refurbishing the benches around the villages to the local nursery, to the Youth Club and trips for the older members of our community.

We have also put aside an additional £1200 for the VAS (Vehicle Activated Sign) for the villages to aid in the fight to reduce and monitor speeding in the two villages. This is something that has been a hot topic in recent months. It is through your continued support that we can continue to help contribute to local causes and projects such as these. Therefore we hope you will come on down on Saturday morning and see what we have to offer.
