A MAN suffered a facial injury which needed hospital treatment and another man received a cut which could have been caused by a blade as violence erupted in a Stourport street.

The incidents happened at about 2pm on Saturday, August 13 in Lombard Street.

The first incident involved two men, one wearing a high visibility top.

The man wearing the high visibility top kicked the other man in the head while he was on the floor.

The second incident happened shortly after and involved the same two men, another man and three women.

One of the men involved sustained a facial injury during the second incident that required hospital treatment.

A second man received a cut to his forearm which is believed to have been caused by a blade.

Investigating officer PC Dave Garner said: "These incidents happened on a busy street, and it is likely that multiple people would have seen what happened. We know that several people did stop to help and they may also have information which could assist our enquiries. If anybody does have any information then please contact us- no detail is too small and could be of use to the investigation."

*A 24-year-old man and a 47-year-old man, both from Stourport-on-Severn were arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail until September 2.
