RESURGENT indie rockers Cast have been announced as the final big name headline act for this summer's Lakefest music festival.

Taking place in the scenic surrounds of Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, from Thursday to Sunday, August 11-14, the family-friendly festival will feature a star-studded line-up including previously announced headliners Primal Scream and We Are Scientists.

Cast originally formed in 1992, coming together from the ashes of two of the most legendary and lauded guitar bands of all time, The La’s and Shack.

Their debut album, All Change, spawned a run of hit singles and went on to become the biggest selling debut album of all time for Polydor Records.

With the original line-up of John Power (guitar / vocals), Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson (lead guitar), Pete Wilkinson (bass) and Keith O’Neill (drums) re-united and a new album, Troubled Times, in the bag, the band are heading for their big Lakefest show riding the crest of a wave.

Lee Martin, Lakefest director, said, “We are thrilled to announce Cast as a headline act for Lakefest 2016.

"The team are dedicated to creating an eclectic line-up for this year, and I’m so excited to share this latest news with our loyal supporters.

"Lakefest 2015 exceeded all of our expectations and was a staggering success for the team and we are, therefore, determined to make Lakefest 2016 even better than previous years.

"It really is a dream come true to be able to take the festival forward in such an immense way.”

Other acts already announced for Lakefest include Starsailor, The Coral, Newton Faulkner, Afro Celt Sound System, Big Country, Molotov Jukebox, Secret Affair, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Duke Special, Roving Crows, the Cracked, Erica, Foreign Affairs, Jasper in the Company of Others, Altern8 - Live P.A and Baby D.

And, of course, as well as the music there will be festival fun for all ages - with Lakefest organisers once again promising the wide array of attractions that saw the event scoop the 'best small festival' title in the 2015 Festival Kidz awards.
