AN INQUEST into the death of a Malvern woman killed crossing the road near her flat in Sydney will be held tomorrow (Thursday).

Michela Russo was knocked over in October and an inquest was later opened into her death.

The 40-year-old grew up in Malvern, attending St Joseph's RC School and Chase High School and the family - her parents Michael and Sandra - ran the Russo Coffee Lounge and Restaurant for many years.

She became a keen traveller and visited the United States, Hawaii, the islands of the South Pacific and New Zealand.

Ms Russo moved to Australia in 2000, living on Bondi Beach and working at a salon called Escape.

After completing a diploma in travel and tourism, she recently began working at Sydney Rowing Club.

Both the club and Escape held memorials for Michaela following the announcement of her death.

Michela's funeral was held at Sacred Heart and St Catherine of Alexandria RC Church in Droitwich on November 9.

The inquest will be held at the Worcestershire Coroner's Court in Stourport at 9.30am on Thursday, May 26.
