LITTER, pot holes and support for businesses were amongst the issues raised as part of Malvern Hills District Council’s latest Meet Your Council event.

Councillors David Watkins, Robert Kerby and Kwai Hung Chan were joined by Simon Smith, the council’s economic development manager, to take a tour of the Link ward that they all represent.

The quartet spent time tat the Link Business Centre, which provides purpose-built premises for a wide range of companies.

They met several business owners and discussed their plans for the future and how the support services provided by the economic development team could help them.

They also stopped off at Clarence Park Village to talk to residents and view the complex which provides 101 apartments for older people to rent, part-own or buy, as well as a range of leisure and social facilities.

Cllr David Watkins, speaking on behalf of all three Link councillors, said: “These visits are a great way for us to meet a wide variety of people and discuss a range of issues.

“We were impressed by the facilities on offer at Clarence Park Village while it was wonderful to see so many diverse businesses trading at the Link Business Centre. It highlighted just how many local people have made the step from working at home to taking on a commercial unit and we’ll continue to do all we can to support them.”

The Meet Your Council events were launched last year as a way of improving links between the council and the community. Any residents, business or community group who would like to receive a visit should contact Claire Vaughan on 01684 862449.
