MEMBERS from Barnards Green Traders paid a visit to the dementia cafe, held monthly at Barnard’s Green Cricket Club, to present a cheque for £1,500 which they raised over Christmas period.

The money will help to pay for new equipment to improve the range of activities that the cafe offers.

Jane Knowles from the Traders said she was delighted with the amount they had been able to raise and thanked all the people who had supported the traders' Christmas extravaganza.

She said: "It is again a great example of the traders paying back the community that supports them and spreading a bit of sunshine along the way."

Helen Attree of the Alzheimers Society which runs the cafe accepted the donation and told the traders how the cafe plays an important role in supporting people affected by dementia and their family and friends, enabling them to socialise, gather relevant information and share experiences.
