A FUNDRAISING drive is being held at a Malvern-based golf club in aid of St Richard's Hospice.

The event is being held at Worcestershire Golf Club, in Woodfarm Road, and follows the success of an annual fundraiser at Droitwich Golf Club that has raised thousands for the charity.

The event features a 18-hole round at the course teeing off at 11am, as well as a two course dinner with prize giving for the best golfers, and a charity auction.

Rachel Jones, fundraising manager at St Richard's Hospice, said: "We are very excited to be holding a new second golf day.

"Our last golf day was so popular we had a reserve list so we thought that an additional day was in order.

"We would like to invite local golf enthusiasts and businesses to bring teams along for a great day of golf and networking.

"As a bit of fun we will be offering prizes for the first three teams, the longest drive and nearest the pin."

Anne-Marie Stride, from sponsors Worcester Santander, added: “We are keen to support local charities when we can and St Richard’s is well known locally for the wonderful care they provide to patients and their families.

"It is a pleasure to be involved in the golf day which we know will be a fabulous event, come rain or shine.”

Money raised goes to the charity that provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with life-limiting illnesses, and supports their families.

Tickets for a team of four costs £300.
