SANTA Claus is coming to a destination near you in Worcester and Malvern on his own bus.

First Worcester is sending out the Santa Bus, which has been transformed with lights, trimmings and tinsel, on a variety of routes this week.

Santa will be in the driving seat during the journeys around the city and surrounding areas that are filled with festive fun.

The Elf will be filling in as a conductor, giving out Christmas treats and collecting fares, which will be nostalgic for some travellers who remember the once welcoming sight of conductors.

A competition is also running to win £50 of Love to Shop vouchers for the best selfie taken with Santa or his helper. Photos taken can be tweeted to @FirstWyvern using #santabusworcester.

Nigel Eggleton, First Worcester managing director, said: "We are running a Santa Bus to kick off the festive season in style.

"Customers can expect a warm welcome from our driver who will be dressed as Santa and our Elf who will be our conductor issuing vintage tickets.

"Everyone’s welcome to join us and enjoy a festive ride - whether you are celebrating with friends, shopping or travelling to work, start your journey with a smile and join in with the Christmas festivities on board.”

The Santa Bus is running today on the 30 to Dines Green route, the 33A to Warndon & The Berkeleys and the 44C to Malvern.

Tomorrow it will be on the 33 and 33A route, Warndon and The Berkeleys, and the 35 to Blackpole.

On Thursday it runs on the 30 route to Dines Green, the 33A to Warndon and The Berkeleys and the 44C to Malvern.
