A FORMER serviceman who lives in Malvern has completed an endurance challenge, walking 90 miles from his workplace in Newbury, Berkshire, back home.

Paul Morton completed the task in 33 hours, raising £2,650 for the charity Skiing with Heroes.

He described the challenge as "gruelling" and said: "The weather over the two days was shocking and I really did have to dig deep within myself to complete the task. The hardest part was the last 30 miles especially with the wet weather softening my feet and causing horrible blisters."

Skiing with Heroes supports wounded veterans, all of whom suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder or have received life-changing injuries, through a specially designed programme of mentoring, life coaching and also a ski week, which hopefully leads them back into employment.

Mr Morton's Just Giving site is still accepting donations, and anyone who wants to support him is urged to visit justgiving.com/paul-morton16.
