MEMBERS of the Ledbury and Malvern branch of Guide Dogs are glowing with pride after a busy week of events to raise funds to support people who are blind or partially sighted.

The theme of Guide Dog Week this year was Let’s Glow and volunteers and fundraisers were asked to stand out for the charity by wearing neon.

Collections, a cake and second-hand book sales took place at Tesco in Ledbury, in Church Walk in Malvern and at Just for Pets at Malvern Retail Park.

A sell-out murder mystery event held at Colwall Village Hall and a private donation have brought the local fundraising branch’s total to over £1,650.

Debbie Pitts, branch organiser for Guide Dogs Ledbury and Malvern said: “The most heart-warming aspect has been the spirit of teamwork and enthusiasm amongst the volunteers and businesses supporting us.

"Our canine volunteers lapped up the attention and played a vital part in raising awareness of the work of this amazing charity. Thank you to everybody in Ledbury and Malvern who supported us and helped us to achieve this wonderful total."
