THE story of the rail line linking Worcester and Hereford, running through Malvern, Colwall and Ledbury, will be the subject of Malvern Museum's next talk.

The speaker will be Peter Clement of the Friends of Malvern’s Railway, which recently managed to get the Worm, the mid-nineteenth-century tunnel leading from the platform at Great Malvern Station to the former Imperial Hotel, listed by Historic England.

As well as covering the main line running through Malvern, Mr Clement's illustrated talk will also cover the three branch lines that link up with it: the line to Bromyard and Leominster; the line to Upton, Tewkesbury and Ashchurch, and the Newent-Gloucester branch line.

The talk will raise funds to help projects to improve the railway environment around the Malvern area. The talk, which is open to everyone, will be in Christchurch Hall, Avenue Road, at 7.30pm on Friday, October 30. Admission to Friends of Malvern Museum is free; entry to other visitors is £2.
