COUNCILLORS in the Malvern Hills district will be getting out and about to meet local people.

The council is trialling a new Meet Your Council programme which will see councillors and officers touring the district to answer questions and listen to comments and concerns.

The project will be trialled on Wednesday, October 14, when council chairman Barbara Williams and Ivor Pumfrey, head of community services, will be in the Martley ward.

The pair will be carrying out a walkabout in Wichenford in the morning, then visiting businesses in the Martley area and holding a drop-in session at Sport Martley between 4pm and 5pm.

Cllr Williams said: “This is a great opportunity for people to raise any issues or concerns they may have regarding our services, let us know of anything we should be doing, or inform us of the things that we do well.

“We look forward to meeting lots of people and discussing important issues that can make a difference to the lives of people in the district.”

And on Monday, October 19, Cllrs John Michael and David Harrison will then be visiting Kempsey along with chief executive Jack Hegarty.

If the scheme is successful, the aim is to roll it out across the district. Anyone who would like a home or business visit should contact Claire Vaughan on 01684 862449 or claire.vaughan@malvernhills.gov.uk
