Toussaint came to prominence in the USA as a member of the legendary Blue Note outfit, Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, in the 1980s playing alongside the likes of Terence Blanchard, Donald Harrison, Mulgrew Miller and others
He moved to the UK in the early 1990s and quickly established himself in the country; jazz scene, performing with players such as Jason Rebello and Julian Joseph, as well as becoming a leading jazz educator.
At Malvern, he will be performing with a rhythm section of ex-students from the conservatoire at the University of Birmingham, at Oliver's Wine Bar, Belle Vue Terrace, on Saturday, September 13, starting at 10pm.
As before, the festival offers some of the best in modern and contemporary jazz, playing in the pubs, bars and hotels in the centre of Malvern on Friday and Saturday.
