A CELEBRATION of the cream of the county's businesses will be taking place at Bank House Hotel, Bransford on Sunday.

Representatives from businesses, charities and organisation are preparing for the second annual Festival of Business which has been organised by the team behind #WorcestershireHour.

#WorcestershireHour takes place every Monday from 8pm on Twitter and regularly has between 600 and 700 people taking part.

This year's event will see the first #WorcestershireHouse Social Media Awards taking place which has attracted over 70 nominations and 4,000 votes.

Voting has now closed and the winners will be announced and presented with their unique trophies on the day.

Organiser Stuart Allen described the event as “part biz expo, part charity, part awards and definitely a party.”

He added that it was a day for the whole family with food and refreshments served as well as entertainment from the YouthComm Radio open-topped bus featuring DJ Liam Cash.

The Festival of Business is a celebration of Worcestershire enterprise and gives the #WorcestershireHour participants a chance to meet face to face.

The first Festival of Business was held in May last year.

Mr Allen, from St John's, Worcester, said: “We like to do things differently, and a business event on a Sunday is certainly that.

"The feedback from our first festival last year was excellent.”

County businesses have been involved in the designing of the trophies which have been been specially designed and created by glass blower Stuart Fletcher based at Jinney Ring Craft Centre, Hanbury, near Droitwich.
