A POPULAR Malvern restaurant has been nominated to represent West Worcestershire in a prestigious Parliamentary competition recognising the best in South Asian cooking.

Cafe Zam Zam in Church Street has been nomintted to take part in the Tiffin Cup, following hot on the heels of Upton’s Flava Fusion restaurant, which made the finals of last year's competition and prepared food in a Houses of Parliament restaurant.

The prestigious Tiffin Cup is now in its eighth year and is judged by a collection of MPs and respected cookery experts.

Cafe Zam Zam contacted local MP Harriett Baldwin asking her to nominate them to take part in the competition, an application that was endorsed by local diners.

She said: “We are spoiled for choice in Worcestershire with lots of really great restaurants offering a wide range of South Asian dishes.

"Although I have yet to eat there myself, I have heard good things about Cafe Zam Zam. After the success of Flava last year, I hope that Cafe Zam Zam will do us proud."
