THE standard of entries in this year's Malvern in Bloom competition is "inspirational", says bloom chairman John Jordan.
Mr Jordan was speaking following the competition judging, which was carried out by Bill Simpson of the Royal Horticultural Society and Malvern's mayor Julian l'Anson.
Mr Jordan said: "During the day we visited 16 gardens. Overall the quality and variety of the flowers, and the standard set by our local residents was quite inspirational, and we were continually surprised by the hidden gems tucked away at the back of houses.
"Several residents only had a very small space, but it was amazing how much they had managed to pack into their secret gardens. I think it fair to say that the judges were most impressed."
The competition is organised by Malvern Town Council, and the manes of the winners should be announced shortly.
