POLICE have issued a CCTV image in connection with an incident where a man defecated in the subway at Great Malvern railway station.

The incident happened at about 6pm on Monday, July 20, in the subway that links the two platforms at the historic station, which in the last few days was awarded a certificate of excellence by the travel website TripAdvisor.

The suspect subsequently boarded a train which left Great Malvern at 6.42pm, heading towards Colwall, Ledbury and Hereford.

PC Philp Horne of British Transport Police said: "It is unclear at present where the male left the train. The station was being used by members of the public at the time of the offence which happened in broad daylight.

"This was a particularly unpleasant incident for station staff to deal with. The station had members of the public waiting to catch trains on both platforms at the time of the offence."

The man is described as being aged between 20 and 30 years of age, of proportionate build, short light-brown hair, light facial stubble.

He was wearing glasses, a light coloured T-shirt with the word Trojan on the front, jeans and canvas shoes. He was also carrying a large dark rucksack.

Anyone with information is urged to call British Transport Police on 0800 405040 quoting incident number.
