A TEAM of fundraisers from West Midlands Ambulance Service are preparing to climb the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in less than 24 hours.
The seven-strong crew is taking on the three peaks challenge – climbing Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon in just 24 hours – on Saturday, August 29 to raise money for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Every air ambulance callout costs about £2,500, or £25 per minute, and the team is hoping to raise at least enough to pay for one job.
The team consists of four walkers and three support drivers, who have been generously provided with a minibus by Rygor Mercedes in Kidderminster to help in the challenge.
