STUDENTS at Malvern School of Art have spent this week preparing to show their creations to the public in the school's annual exhibition.

The students have taken over the entire campus of South Worcestershire College in Albert Road North to showcase the skills they have honed in the school's many classes,

All 700 of the art school’s students are given the opportunity to take part, and the work on show include paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolours, drawings and botanical illustration, calligraphy, bookbinding, stained glass, silver jewellery, textiles, sculpture and mixed media.

Head Caroline Park said: "It is a particularly exciting time for the art school because we are expanding and will be launching our new HND in Fine Art in September.

"We are particularly proud of our Access to Art Students, who have all passed their diploma, equivalent to three A-levels, with high grades and are now ready to progress to higher education or work as artists.

"This exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for prospective students to look at work and meet staff and students. It should be well worth a visit, whether you are looking to buy, spot new talent, or considering taking a course."

The exhibition is open tomorrow (Saturday) and Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 3pm.
