A Malvern pupil was given the political trip of a lifetime when she was given tours of the House of Commons, as part of her work experience.

Jennifer Elsey, 17, also toured the House of Lords, and even got to watch Prime Minister's Questions and shadow Harriett Baldwin during her work in Westminster.

The year 12 Malvern St James School pupil spent time Mrs Baldwin's constituency offices, experiencing many aspects of working for a Member of Parliament.

Miss Elsey, of Kempsey who is studying Economics and Politics, said: "My time in Westminster was a wonderful experience and every moment in the busy day was fascinating.

"It has given me a real insight to what life in politics is really like and it has reinforced my dream of working in politics.

"I thoroughly enjoyed it and I will certainly remember it as a truly fantastic experience."

Mrs Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, said: "I am keen to encourage young people to engage in politics and I hope that Jennifer is inspired by this week of work experience to go on to get more involved."
