A SPECIAL garden promoting organ donation which won gold at the Malvern Spring Festival is to be moved to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

The garden was designed by award-winning landscape architect Ruth Gwynn and her husband Rupert from Keyspace Gardens in Pershore and won the prestigious award at the annual Royal Horticultural Society event earlier this month.

It was designed on behalf of the organ donation committee at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and featured the colours used by the NHS Blood and Transplant service – blue and red – along with heart-shaped leaves along two paths.

Speaking at a meeting of the trust’s board on Thursday, May 28, acting chief executive Chris Tidman said it had proved so popular the organisation was looking into the possibility of setting it up as a permanent fixture somewhere at the Royal.
