THE team at Gas Appliance Showroom put their back into it to raise money for charity when they scaled Snowdon carrying a boiler.

Staff of the showroom ascended to the top of the Wales' tallest mountain carrying a Worcester Bosch boiler, with the somewhat unusual challenge raising £1,523 for Cancer Research UK.

Grant Woodward, of Gas Appliance Showroom in Worcester Road, Malvern, said: "All of us know someone close to them who has battled cancer or who are still battling cancer.

"As you can imagine it’s a fairly unusual thing to see up there.

"The reason we decided on carrying a boiler was firstly we are a team of gas engineers and we wanted to do something that related to our daily job and secondly the majority of us have never had any walking experience before but we wanted to make sure it was challenge."

The team scaled the 3,560 feet on Saturday, May 23.
