THERE will be plenty for garden lovers to enjoy over the spring bank holiday weekend in the Malvern area.

The village of Hanley Swan will once again be holding its open garden festival, this year with 17 private gardens opening their gates to visitors.

St Gabriel's Church in the centre of the village will be hosting a scarecrow shindig and craft fare, while other attractions include light lunches and cream teas at the Grange, one of the 17 gardens.

All the gardens will be open from noon to 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and tickets are just £5, children under 14 free, with tickets valid across the three days. More information is available at hanleyswan.net.

And just a couple of miles away, the gardens at Little Malvern Court, will be open on Bank Holiday Monday from 2pm to 5pm.

The former Benedictine priory is surrounded by ten acres of grounds, which include garden rooms, a terraced round house, a water garden that feeds into a chain of lakes, plus a wide variety of spring bulbs, topiary hedges and beautiful mature trees.

Teas and plants will be on sale and admission is £6, children free.
