SLEDDING across the frozen landscapes of Norway was one Malvern man's way of raising money for people like his father, who suffer from Parkinson's disease.
Pulled by a team of four to six husky dogs, Anthony Burger joined a team of volunteers to travel 155 miles in 5 days.
His journey began 125 miles north of the Arctic Circle, and took him into the wilds of Norwegian Lapland.
Twenty-one year-old Anthony, of Lower Howsell Road, took part in the expedition through charity challenge organisers Across the Divide.
He financed the trip himself and raised £1,000 in sponsorship for Parkinson's Disease Research.
His father, Martin, has had Parkinson's for fifteen years, and Anthony said he wanted to do something to help.
"I've always wanted to raise money for Parkinson's Disease Research, so I looked on the internet for something to do.
"I found Across the Divide, and when I got their brochure through, I picked the most unusual challenge."
Despite the freezing cold, Anthony described the trip as amazing'.
"The worst thing was the cold, and we stayed in little huts each night, but there was no running water or electricity, so that wasn't so good.
"The best part was being on the sledge, in complete silence, with just white all around you.
"I really enjoyed it, it was a really amazing trip."
Martin said he was very pleased with his son's efforts.
"He did very well, and I think he really enjoyed it."
