THE secretary of the Royal Air Forces Association Worcester and district branch hopes someone can take over his role as he struggles with ill health.

Branch secretary Arthur Burgess hopes the candidate can shadow him for a while to learn more about the role.

The secretary of the association handles correspondence and provides information to members. They need to be computer literate, able to use the internet and use emails, and ideally would have some connection to the Royal Air Force.

The regular meetings are now held on the second Wednesday of each month between 2pm and 4pm at Bromyard Road Church Hall (WR2 5DW). Access is from a car park in Blakefield Walk.

The next meeting is 2pm on Wednesday, March 11 and features a picture quiz to transport people down memory lane. At April's meeting there will be a film slide presentation - "World War Two, Battle of the Radio Beams" by John Mason.

On the meeting on Wednesday, May 13 a vice president of the Royal Air Forces Association will award the area presidential certificate to the branch chairman John Mason.
