CHILDREN at Great Malvern Primary School have been finding out all about Chinese New Year this week.

The youngsters from the school in Barnards Green enlisted their parents to help them make their own Chinese dragon, which will go on show at the school's assembly on Friday.

During the week, the children have also been tasting Chinese food, learning Chinese songs and dances, making Chinese lanterns, performing a dragon dance and taking part in a chop-stick challenge.

Stu Kent, the assistant head, said: " All the children in reception are four and five years old and are very excited to take part in all of the activities.

"Multiculturalism is a huge part of our diverse curriculum and the children are captivated by learning about different traditions and customs.

"We have fantastic support from our parents and families which makes a huge difference to our children's learning."
