A world-wide photographic competition has been won by a businessman in Malvern, after his stunning picture of goats eating nuts in a tree took first place.

The photo was taken in Morocco, North Africa, and shows more than ten goats balancing on an Argan tree to feed on the leaves and nuts it provides.

The once in a lifetime snap was named the best of the bunch in the Readers' Travel Photo Competition, organised by The World Travel Guide.

Lee Harrison, owner of Malvern World Travel who took the photo, said: "Myself, my wife and daughter were on a family holiday last June, travelling between Marrakech and Essaouira.

"Along the stretch of road we were travelling on were these trees, which only grow in this part of the world.

"The driver stopped and asked if we'd like to take any pictures, when we saw the goats in the tree. I couldn't believe how many goats were in the branches.

"I could have stayed there all day taking different shots with different angles, but we didn't have long to stay.

"I'm very lucky that I get to travel to some fascinating destinations around the World, but have never come across anything such as this amazing view before."

The 56 year-old keen photographer, who has associations with Beacon Camera Club too, says it is one of his favourite pictures he has ever taken.

Mr Harrison, of Somers Park Avenue, said: "I don't know what is my all-time favourite picture I've ever taken, but this one is certainly up there for sure. It's just so unique.

"I like landscapes, as I travel across the world because of my job and take pictures to show customers where they could be going, but I'm always on the look-out for a great photo and my camera's never too far from my side.

"I'm very proud and delighted to have the competition."

Another of Lee's Photographs, of The Elgar Statue, can be seen outside Malvern's Waitrose as part of The Beacon Camera Club Display.
