A PLAN for 14 new houses at Rushwick, near Worcester, look set to be approved by councillors.

Anthony Douglas Homes Ltd has applied to build the developments, which will include four affordable homes, on land off Upper Wick Lane, and close to the A4440 southern link road.

The parish council has no objection to the application, but three local residents have written to Malvern Hills District Council to voice objections.

Among their worries are noise from the new development, loss of privacy, extra traffic and lack of parking.

The application is set to be decided when the district council's northern area development control committee meets on Wednesday, January 7, at the council chamber in Malvern.

Council planning officers are recommending approval, on condition the developer makes a Section 106 financial contribution towards local facilities.
