A GROUP of friends from the Ledbury area will be out on vintage tractors on Sunday (November 30) as part of a fundraising push for the Movember challenge.

The Bar Leaners, largely formed of former Ledbury Rugby Club members, hit the headlines in March 2013, when they pushed a specially-made mobile bar across the Malvern Hills on one of the coldest and snowiest days of the year.

James Pugh of the group, a partner of Pughs Estate Agents, Ledbury, said: "We like to do something for charity every couple of years or so, and we raised nearly £10,000 for Macmillan with the bar push.

"Now we're taking part in the Movember charity challenge, and we've all grown moustaches and are looking very silly. "Some of our members are farmers, and they will be getting their vintage tractors out on Sunday and we'll start off at the Wheatsheaf at Fromes Hill at 11.30am and make our way to the Plough Inn at Stoke Lacy, where we'll shave the moustaches off.

"We'll be stopping off at Halmond's Frome and Bishop's Frome to collect money."

Movember is the annual challenge to raise money and awareness for testicular cancer and other men's health issues.

"Movember isn't as high profile as Macmillan, so I don't think we'll raise as much money, but if we get £4,000 or £5,000, we'll be happy," said Mr Pugh.
