A Malvern care home was a sea of pink to raise of awareness of breast cancer ahead of a dance themed event next year.

Staff, residents, and their loved ones of Hastings Residential Care Home, dressed in pink clothing to promote Strictly Worcestershire 2015 and raise awareness of the two charities it is supporting- Breast Unit Campaign and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

The care home, in Barnards Green, was the venue for a Strictly Come Dancing themed dance and tea afternoon, with everyone wearing pink attire, headpieces, feathers and wigs.

Vintage singer Sarah Nicholson popped along, and performed music from the 40s and 50s.

Home manager, Sue Milward, said: “We all know someone who has battled breast cancer or has been affected by this disease, so these are appeals which are extremely close to all our hearts.

“Our residents absolutely love getting glammed up and dancing so this was the perfect way to have fun and raise awareness at the same time.”
