FREE first aid courses sponsored by Malvern Hills District Council are proving to be a hit with the public.

Delivered by St John Ambulance, the Essential First Aid course teaches members of the public what action to take in an emergency and how to deal with accidents and injuries.

The first course took place on Friday, October 31, at the Council House in Malvern, and among the students was Cllr Phil Grove, the portfolio holder for health and wellbeing.

He said: “I'm really pleased that the first aid courses offered by the council have generated so much community interest. First aid saves lives and St.John Ambulance provides training to equip us with these essential skills."

Courses later this month at Malvern Vale Community Centre and the Hill Centre in Upton are already fully booked, but a few places remain on the courses in Tenbury on Wednesday, November 26, and Martley on Saturday, December 13.
