THE first soldiers from Upton who were killed in The First World War were commemorated on the anniversary of their death.
Members of the Royal British Legion were joined by Upton in Bloom in paying the respects to the fallen heroes on October 28, along with members of the public and representatives of The Tudor House Museum.
Jim and Tom Pumfrey, both born in Upton, were killed in action in France, while serving in the 1st South Staffordshire Regiment.
President of the Upton upon Severn Royal British Legion branch gave a few words for the soldiers, and a silence was held in their memory.
Upton town councillor Betty Williams, who was representing the museum, said: "It was a nice event, and I was more than happy to represent the museum there too.
"Soldiers deserve to be remembered for what they did."
