A CANCER Research collection tin containing about £60 was stolen from the booking hall at Great Malvern railway station.

The theft has been labelled as a "particularly despicable act" by the British Transport Police (BTP) officer leading the investigation.

CCTV images have been released of a man and a woman the BTP would like to speak to about the theft which took place at just before 5pm on Friday, July 4.

PC Phil Horne, leading the investigation, said: “A Cancer Research charity collection tin, which was located in the booking hall at Great Malvern railway station and contained about £60, was stolen.

“The theft of charity boxes is a particularly despicable crime and I am keen to trace those responsible for stealing this tin.”

“I am today in a position to release CCTV images of a man and woman who I believe will have key information about this theft.

“They caught a Herford – Birmingham New Street station train from Great Malvern at around 5pm on Friday, 4 July.

“Do you know the people in these photographs or their current whereabouts? If so, please get in touch with BTP straight away.”

if the CCTV quality wasn't so dire (and even cheap systems do better than this these days) there'd be a chance!

I'll keep an eye out for a pair of scallies that are being followed around by a dense cloud of JPEG artifacts.
