A CANCER Research collection tin containing about £60 was stolen from the booking hall at Great Malvern railway station.

The theft has been labelled as a "particularly despicable act" by the British Transport Police (BTP) officer leading the investigation.

CCTV images have been released of a man and a woman the BTP would like to speak to about the theft which took place at just before 5pm on Friday, July 4.

PC Phil Horne, leading the investigation, said: “A Cancer Research charity collection tin, which was located in the booking hall at Great Malvern railway station and contained about £60, was stolen.

“The theft of charity boxes is a particularly despicable crime and I am keen to trace those responsible for stealing this tin.”

“I am today in a position to release CCTV images of a man and woman who I believe will have key information about this theft.

“They caught a Herford – Birmingham New Street station train from Great Malvern at around 5pm on Friday, 4 July.

“Do you know the people in these photographs or their current whereabouts? If so, please get in touch with BTP straight away.”
