PROTESTORS calling for a stop to the badger cull will be staging a demonstration in Worcester on Wednesday (August 13).

Some protesters will be dressed as badgers or wearing badger masks and others will be holding anti-cull banners and placards.

The demonstration will take place outside the Government Buildings in Whittington Road between 4pm until 6pm where the regional the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and Natural England offices are situated.

With another cull in Gloucestershire and Somerset due to start at any time, the demonstrators will be calling on both of them to let the badgers live.

The protest will be followed by a social evening, organised by Worcestershire Vegans and Veggies, from 7pm until 9pm in the Upstairs Room at The Firefly, Lowesmoor, where there will be a talk by a representative of Gloucestershire Against Badger Shooting at 8pm.

For more info on either of these events, please contact Worcestershire Vegans and Veggies Communications Officer Ronald Lee on 01562 700043 or 07703 558724.
