Diet key to cancer fight

A WOMAN who has battled breast cancer three times in 21 years has put her survival down to her diet.

Bee Wells, of West Malvern Road, Malvern, has forgone medical treatment for the past seven years in favour of healthy eating and drinking plenty of filtered water.

In that time, she has been diagnosed with breast cancer twice and is now showing signs of beating the condition.

The 64-year-old retired secretary has refused conventional methods to treat it since she reacted badly to radiotherapy more than two decades ago. She also had a lumpectomy then, but has refused to go under the knife since.

Mrs Wells said: "I've come to understand the old adage you are what you eat'.

"I believe healthy eating has put me into remission. I'm seeing a breast cancer specialist at Cheltenham hospital and have been doing so for two years, but I refuse to have chemotherapy or to have the breast removed."

“I’ve come to understand the old adage ‘you are what you eat’.”

Mrs Wells swears by eating plenty of nuts, grains, fruits and yoghurts. She also tries to eat as much locally-grown produce as she can.

She said: "It's so fresh. Some goods in the supermarkets have travelled thousands of miles before they reach the shelves and then sit there for days.

"The food loses all its energy, energy which is then transferred into your body.

"I don't believe that cancer lives in a clean body. People need to cleanse it by building up their immune system, so the body can fight it.

"The latest scans have revealed that there has been a big change for the better."

Mrs Wells is thinking of writing a book about her experiences, in an effort to encourage people with cancer to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Her consultant, James Bristol, could not be contacted for a comment.
