FIREFIGHTERS spent an hour-and-a-half talking a fire in a field in Malvern.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called just after 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday) to Meadow Sweet Court and found a 50 by 50 metre mound of freshly-cut grass on fire.

Two crews from Malvern along with two off-road vehicles attended and used backpacks and beaters to extinguish the blaze just after 7pm.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
