CAMPAIGNERS hoping to change a "dangerous" roundabout in Worcester will be meeting again on July 23.

Following several crashes at the Whittington roundabout, just off junction seven of the M5, people have been campaigning to get the road layout changed to make it safer for drivers.

Lisa Ventura, who started the campaign and a petition directed at the Highways department at Worcestershire County Council after she was involved in a rear-end collision at the junction in September 2012, will chair a meeting for concerned citizens at The Swan at Whittington, Worcester, on Wednesday, July 23, at 7.30pm.

She said: "There are significant problems with Whittington roundabout, and this will be a great chance for the public to have their say about this junction and to suggest possible solutions before it is too late and lives are lost."

Representatives from the county council have been invited to attend, but Mrs Ventura said they did not attend, any feedback and comments made during the meeting would be sent to them.

The petition, which has attracted more than 500 signatures, can be found online at gopetition.com/petitions/petition-to-change-the-road-layout-at-whittington-roundabout-worcester.html and the Facebook campaign page, which has almost 400 likes, can be found at facebook.com/whittingtonroundaboutcampaign.
