VINTAGE vehicles will fill the grounds of Hartlebury Castle when the Worcester County Museum annual Festival of Transport takes place this summer.

The event, which will be held on Sunday, July 13, between 11am and 5pm, welcomes more than 170 cars and other vehicles from days gone by.

There will be everything from vintage cares to bicycles and even tractors and this year visitors can also see the original car from the 1960s television series The Saint , starring Roger Moore.

The car, a Volvo P1800, often referred to as ST 1, has been lovingly restored by owner Kevin Price from Bewdley.

In addition to the vintage vehicles visitors will be treated to a gift and craft fair in the Castle's magnificent State Rooms.

Pippa Ashmore, Museum Events Officer, said: "This event has proved to be one of the most colourful and popular in the County Museum's events calendar and we're looking forward to hosting it again with over 170 vehicles this year including the car from The Saint."

The Museum's own transport collection, which includes a variety of Gypsy caravans and other horse-drawn vehicles, a fire-engine, hearse, ambulance and a 'Castle 3', a unique three-wheeled car built in Kidderminster in the 1920s, will also be on display alongside the temporary exhibition, Hoards, Handbags and Highwaymen.

Entry is £5 for adults, £2.50 for concession and £13 for a family ticket.
